Why Only the Bible- Appointed Holy Days Matter

Discover why the father in heaven, yahweh, only approves his holy days & not man-made holidays

Why Only the Bible-Appointed Holy Days Matter

Dear Church Family,

Every year as the seasons change, society shifts into autopilot. Store shelves fill with decorations for the next big secular or traditional holiday, calendars pack tight with celebrations, and we naturally fall into the rhythm of the culture around us.

But as believers, every now and then we need to pause and ask ourselves a simple, honest question: Are we walking according to Almighty Yahweh’s designated design, or have we slowly adopted human traditions?

When you dive into Scripture, you quickly notice that Yahweh did not leave His worship schedule to guesswork. Throughout the Old and New Testaments, Yahweh instituted specific, sacred times—His Holy Days (or Moedim, meaning “appointed times”). These days are not mere historical relics; they are living rehearsals of Yahweh’s divine plan of salvation, pointing us directly to the work of Yahshua the Messiah.

So why have so many of these biblically appointed days been replaced over the centuries by man-made traditions?

Guarding the Purity of the Gospel

It is easy to assume that substituting Yahweh’s appointed holy days with cultural holidays is harmless. After all, most people mean well. But Scripture repeatedly urges us to guard the purity of the faith and doctrine we were given.

The Apostle Paul spoke passionately about this to the believers in Galatia when he noticed how quickly they were swaying toward altered teachings:

“I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Messiah, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Messiah. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:6-8)

Paul repeated this warning in 2 Corinthians 11:4, expressing deep concern for believers who easily accept “another Yahshua whom we have not preached” or a “different gospel which you have not accepted.”

When we trade Yahwehs ordained holy days for human-devised celebrations, we risk diluting the clear message of the Gospel. Man-made holidays often blend biblical truths with secular customs, blurring the distinct light Yahweh called us to shine. In contrast, Yahweh’s Holy Days preserve the exact blueprint of His redemptive plan—from the sacrifice of the Passover Lamb to the ultimate peace of the Kingdom of Yahweh.

Walking in Authentic Truth

Observing Yahweh’s biblically appointed holy days isn’t about legalism or trying to earn salvation; it’s about love, obedience, and alignment. It’s about choosing to center our hearts and families on the sacred rhythms that Yahweh Himself established.

When we observe what Yahweh sanctified, Scripture comes alive in ways you might never have experienced before. We begin to see the deeper, connected narrative running from Genesis to Revelation.

If you find your spirit nudged right now to look deeper into the Scriptures, don’t ignore that impulse. Unlearning long-held traditions (Easter, Halloween, and Christmas) and seeking pure biblical truth about the authentic holy days of the Bible can feel daunting, but it is one of the most fulfilling journeys you will ever take. Yes, look holy days, not holidays!

For those looking to explore these topics deeper and dig into clear, unadulterated biblical study, full-Gospel resources like YahshuatheMessiahMinistry.org (our sister website) offer a wonderfully grounded space to study Scripture line by line and rediscover authentic biblical doctrines.

Let’s commit this year to asking Almighty Yahweh for discerning hearts. Let’s align our calendars, our homes, and our worship with His holy Word rather than the shifting customs of the world around us. Halleluyah! 🙂

Grace and peace to you all,

Elders Dan and Joe
