The Power of One: Why Ephesians 4 Leaves No Room for Options
It is Saturday. Happy Sabbath, everyone! Welcome to Spiritual Podcast, your podcast for authentic Bible teachings. I’m Elder Joe, your host. Today’s topic is very crucial and I want your full, undivided attention to what I’m about to say.
Walk into any bookstore, flip through social media, or step into a modern church, and you’ll hear a message that sounds remarkably comfortable: “There are many paths to Elohim,” “Find your own truth,” or “We all worship the same Master in different ways.” It sounds broad-minded. It sounds welcoming.
It also directly contradicts the Word of Yahweh.
When the Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Ephesus, he didn’t offer a buffet of spiritual options. He didn’t preach a “choose-your-own-adventure” theology. Instead, he laid down an uncompromising, breathtaking foundation of absolute unity in Ephesians 4:4-6:
“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Master, one faith, one baptism; one Elohim and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”
Notice the word Paul repeats seven times in those three short verses: One.
Not “many.” Not “a variety of.” Not “whatever feels right to you.” One.
When Yahweh says one, He means numeric unity—exactly one and not a single one more.

One Master—Not a Pantheon of Choices
We live in a culture that loves options. Look at the pulpits today, and you’ll find leaders—even well-meaning spiritual guides—softening the Gospel to fit a pluralistic world. They suggest that Yahshua is simply one of many great teachers, one of many divine doors, or one valid perspective among many.
But Paul leaves zero room for addition. There is one Master.
Yahshua the Messiah does not share His throne with other spiritual figures, philosophies, or modern cultural ideals. He didn’t say, “I am a way, a truth, and a life.” He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). When we dilute the exclusive mastership of Messiah Yahshua to avoid offending people, we strip the Gospel of its power. He is Master over all, or He is not Master at all.
One Faith—Not a Mold-Your-Own Religion
How often do you hear people talk about “their faith” as if it’s a personal collection of custom beliefs? People pick a piece from Christianity, a concept from eastern mysticism, a dash of self-help, and build a customized religion.
The Holy Scripture (The Bible) speaks of one faith.
This refers to the body of truth delivered to the believers once and for all (Jude 1:3). It isn’t flexible to fit the changing winds of culture, nor does it evolve to match modern opinions. The Gospel doesn’t need updating, rebranding, or expanding. Yahweh didn’t leave the doctrines of salvation open to public vote. There is one message of the stake, one way of salvation, and one truth that saves.
One Baptism—Not Multiple Entrances
Paul completes this core trilogy with one baptism.
Through one baptism, believers publicly align themselves with the death, burial, and resurrection of Yahshua Messiah. It is the single, dynamic mark of entering into the body of Yahshua. There aren’t multiple ways to enter Yahweh’s family, nor are there competing baptisms that offer different tiers of salvation. One Spirit baptizes us into one body, under one Master.
Why the “One” Matters Today
Unity isn’t built on compromise; it’s built on truth.
When preachers and leaders tell you that “all paths lead to the same destination,” they aren’t offering love—they are selling a counterfeit unity that crumbles under the weight of Scripture. True biblical unity doesn’t come from lowering our standards to include every idea under the sun. It comes from anchoring ourselves firmly to the one Yahweh has revealed.
The gospel is exclusive in its truth, but it is radically inclusive in its offer. Anyone can come—whosoever will may come! But we all come through the same door. We all submit to the same Master. We all trust the same faith.
Let’s stop trying to add to what Yahweh has already declared singular. Hold fast to the truth: One Master, one faith, one baptism. Everything else is just human noise.
